Well, after a few months of work. the new site is now online (officially, unofficially, its been up for months). The new site is all hand coded, using XHTML, which is a more strict combination of XML and HTML. To make the code faster, I moved all the style to a separate CSS stylesheet.

New things:

  • New Code. Makes site faster and more sleek.
  • Easier to update. Even though I have to edit the main file, its all very simple.
  • Uniform look. Each page uses the same style sheet and the menu at the site does not link off-site. Pictures and Blog are still off-site, but have a page of their own.
  • New USY Logo. Glass effect added to the logo at the top.
  • New Banner. Same font, with the same glass effect. Also, it resizes with the browser window.
  • Interactive Menu. CSS buttons make the menu alter as the mouse moves over each button. (does not work in Internet Explorer because it doesnt support CSS standards)
  • Few images. Faster loading!

Still to do:

  • New listserv (Google Groups? leave comments)
  • On-site blog
  • Event Archive
  • Calendar
